Interloan/Document Delivery Service

1. What is Interloan/Document Delivery Service?
Interloan/Document Delivery Service (I/DDS) is a service which helps users obtain any information or materials that are not available in CAIS collection.
2. How do I make a request?
For every interloan request you make: * First check to see whether CAIS hold the item: - check the Web OPAC/E-journals and Online databases/CD ROM databases. * If CAIS does not have the item, please place your request via the online form. http://cais-mill.unimas.my/screens/ill.html Note: Please provide as much information about your request and avoid abbreviations!
3. Who may use the service?
Interloan/Document Delivery Service is available to all staff and students of Unimas. Requests from nonmembers will also be entertained depending on cases with a fee usually covering the cost of article and delivery.
4. How much does it cost?
Interloan and Document Delivery Service is free of charge for UNIMAS student and academic staff.
5. How long will an interloan take?
It is very difficult for us to predict how long a request will take as it depends on whether the material is available in the holding library and method of delivery of lending library. Normally, materials borrowed through I/DDS arrive within a week or two (overseas). If you are submitting a lot of requests at one time please prioritize them. We can then ensure that the items you need most are the first to be processed.
